Today McCoy is six months old!! Our sweet little boy is 1/2 a year!!! Seriously! It is absolutely amazing how much he has changed in six months. I'm not going to say this is my favorite stage because if it makes sense every stage has been my favorite and I think all the ones after this will be my favorite, too! Every stage has been completely different and so wonderful! He is so amazing and he does something new everyday to make me laugh.
Here are a few things that we want to remember about McCoy:
1. He has become so observant. He looks around at everything and just takes it all in. Sometimes it's hard for me to get his attention because something else has caught his eye.
2. He loves to be tickled on his belly and under his arms! He raises his arms over his head and laughs so hard! I love hearing his adorable laugh! I can't believe we haven't gotten it on video yet but as soon as we do I will post it.
3. When you lay him on his stomach, he immediately rolls over onto his back. He hates being on his stomach.
4. He loves his vegetables, oatmeal cereal, bananas in his fresh food feeder, and Mum Mums! Dinnertime is so much fun!
5. He likes to make toot noises and blow raspberries. He thinks this is so funny! He especially likes it when you do it back to him. The other night at dinner, every time I put some food in his mouth he would blow so you can imagine the HUGE mess we had!
6. He is getting closer to reaching for people. If he's in his activity center and he wants out, he will raise his arms to the side for you to pick him up. I love when he does this so I'm going to be very excited when he actually reaches for me!
7. He grabs for everything! He loves to grab onto my earrings and hair. We can no longer hold him in our laps while we eat because he tries to grab plates and cups too.
8. When he's taking a bottle and getting drowsy he likes to reach is hand up and stick it on your mouth, especially if you're talking. I'm guessing he wants me to be quiet...
9. He loves to sit up but does not like to fall back! I don't know if it scares him or if it really hurts but I feel awful for him. I've learned my lesson to start putting a pillow behind him!
10. He loves Sophie! Whenever she walks by or comes near him, he tries to grab her. If she licks him, he smiles really big!
11. He goes to bed around 7:30 and wakes up at 6:00 or 7:00. Preferably 7:00...but mostly 6:00!
12. I think his favorite color is blue!! I know you probably think I'm crazy but we were playing with some toys today and I kept giving him options of red, green, blue, yellow, or purple and no matter what hand it was in or what color it was with, he chose blue. I also noticed that he preferred red over green!! I'll let you know in a few years if this is for real!

Playing with his blue toy!
I know that there are a ton more things I could write down. I'm probably going to keep thinking of them so I will add as I remember!
Kirk and I are having so much fun with him and are loving how much his personality has popped out! We are so blessed to have such a happy, laid-back little boy! We can not get enough of him!! We love you, McCoy!!
Tomorrow is his six month check-up so I'll fill you in on his percentiles!
