Christmas Fun!

We're back from El Dorado! We had such a good time with my family, opening gifts and playing games (Dad's the Trivial Pursuit champ). We went there Saturday morning and got back on Wednesday. I haven't been able to spend that much time there since I was in college so it really was special!
Like I mentioned in the last post, the car was PACKED! Sara was very kind and shared her seat with both dogs for a little bit of the way. In this picture, I think Sophie is trying to make me feel sorry for her...

My mom is an excellent decorator and when I was growing up our house was always completely decked out for Christmas, Halloween, Easter, you name it! The dining room has always been my favorite. This is right before we sat down to eat...

And Dad carving (eating) the turkey...

On a side note, Kirk has been a mountain man since Thanksgiving. He has not shaved at all and it was beginning to drive me crazy. The deal was that he had to shave on Christmas day. But. before he shaved he wanted to take a picture of himself with everyone and by everyone I mean dogs too! They turned out to be really cute but there's too many to post. Here's him with my parents' dog, Sebastian right before the big shave...

And during the big shave...

And after the big shave...

Isn't he handsome???
And about the matching pajamas, my mom, sister, and I always get them to wear on Christmas Eve (this year they were adorable zebra). Now that there's another boy in the family, we decided that they should do the same. Kirk and dad have been incredibly cooperative!
I hope everyone had a very Merry Christmas!! I can't wait for next year!!

Let the Festivities Begin!!!

Since we will be heading to LA (Lower Arkansas) for Christmas, we did our Christmas with Kirk's parents Thursday night. We had sooo much fun! Linda, my mother-in-law, made creamy tacos and we opened our gifts. The big gift of the night was a Snowman Cider Server that was just adorable! Good pick, Doug! We'll definitely miss them on Christmas Day but we were so glad to be able to spend some time together before we left!

The host and hostess with the mostest!
The big gift!

Our nephew, Owen. He's so FUN!
Our niece Anna Grace,. and brother-in-law Clint. Isn't she gorgeous??

Today Kirk, me, my sister, Sara, and our dogs, Sophie and Jingle are all heading to El Dorado...together...in one car! I'm definitely going to get some pictures of this because the car is going to be jampacked! Lots of gifts, luggage and dogs! We can't wait to get down there and continue the celebration of Christ's birth, THE REASON FOR THE SEASON!
Merry Christmas everyone!!! See you when we get back!!!!

Happy Birthday, Mom!!

Today is my mom's 35th birthday...Does that sound wrong? That's what she told me this morning so that's what I'm going to stick with. I am so lucky to have her in my life. She has been a wonderful mother and friend throughout my 24 years (maybe it's not 35...). She always made birthdays for me and my sister so special by staying up late at night decorating posters to hang up around our rooms when we woke up. She smocked our dresses and made MASSIVE hairbows to match every outfit. Besides being so crafty, she is my best friend. I love talking, shopping and hanging out with her. Thank you for making everyday of my life special Mom. As you can see she is beautiful inside and out!

Here We Go...

Ok, so I've finally decided to give this blogging thing a try. My friend Amanda has been begging me to give it a try for months now. She called me a "Stalker" for checking everyone's out but not saying anything or starting my own. So I've given in. I'll apologize in advance if this gets extremely boring!!

Besides Amanda's persuasive talk, I've decided to do this because I really need to brag on my AMAZING husband (and I'm not just saying that because it's close to Christmas :)). We've been married for a year and a half and I've just come to realize how artistic he was. I asked him to paint a table for our gameroom with zebra drawers and I was expecting to be a little disappointed.

This is what I got... I know...It looks great!! I am so proud of him. Now what else do I need painted around the house...

Now that I got my bragging out, I'll show some pics of us so you know who's on the other end of this computer jabbering away about nothing!

The first one is Kirk and I, the second is Sophie, and the BIG orange cat is Henry. This is our little family that you'll get to know a little better as time goes by. Hope I keep you entertained!!
