Newport Golf Tournament

A couple of weekends ago, we went to Newport for a golf tournament. This is the 4th or 5th year for Kirk to play in it and we always have a great weekend!! Both of my parents are from Newport, so we always get to visit with lots of family while we are there. And I think Nanny really enjoyed having us all at her house:)!
Violet slept in the bed with me so McCoy and Kirk had a little camp out on a blow-up mattress in Nanny's living room. McCoy thought it was a lot of fun to stay up late watching sports with daddy!!

On Friday afternoon, after the guys got done with their round, Nanny made their lunch. It's a tradition and I think all the guys look forward to it every year!! Kirk calls it "Madge's Country Lunch" and talks about it months in advance;). McCoy and his cousin, Clayton, got to sit with the big boys this year!!

Nanny had so much fun playing with her great grandkids. She pretty much held Violet every minute that she wasn't sleeping or eating!! Violet had lots of big smiles for Nanny!!

Happy girl!

On Saturday night, we went and ate dinner at Aunt Nancy's house. McCoy was excited to get to play with Clayton!! They were practicing for when they have to carry on the tradition and play in the golf tournament together like their daddies;)!

Yesterday was Nanny's 85th birthday so we went ahead and celebrated while we were there. We surprised her with a cake and sang Happy Birthday on Saturday night. She was so surprised and McCoy was very happy that we were going to have cake for dessert!!

Happy Birthday Nanny!!

We had so much fun visiting with family and Kirk had a great time on the golf course! Already looking forward to next year!!!

Week in Hot Springs

After the 4th, the kids and I decided to spend the rest of the week in Hot Springs with my mom. We felt like we needed a mini vacation;)!
Since neither mom or I feels comfortable enough to get the boat out by ourselves, we planned to do a LOT of swimming and make some more progress with McCoy. And we were successful!!
Since I still wasn't able to get in the water (I was waiting for my 6 week check-up), mom had to do most of the work. But from the very first day, McCoy did a great job! He wore his life jacket some and practiced with noodles. Now he wants to go swimming all the time!! Makes me so happy!! He actually started saying "Gigi, stay here" so she wouldn't help him. YAY!
Here are some pictures of his progress...

On Friday, Kirk and Pop came back and McCoy was so excited! He had been talking about going on a boat ride when Pop got back all week! So Friday evening and all day Saturday, the boys stayed out on the boat. McCoy has also been jumping in the lake, but it always takes some convincing for him to get in. Once he does, he doesn't want to stop!!

4th of July

On Sunday, after the wedding, we headed to Hot Springs to spend the 4th at my parents' condo. We had a fun and relaxing day with my parents, Aunt TeTe, and cousin, Kali. McCoy, Kirk, and Pop got out on the boat early Monday morning and kept at it until it started raining later that afternoon. And since Gigi and Aunt TeTe are such excellent babysitters, I even got to go out for a little bit! Right when we decided to come in, it started raining, so it was perfect timing!
That night we had a yummy dinner and just hung out! It was a perfect 4th!!!

McCoy needs to squeeze in a kiss about every 2 minutes;). He loves his sister!

Pop and Gigi wore matching shirts!! HA!!! Love it!!

Bright and Cash's Wedding

Fourth of July weekend my cousin, Bright, got married in Eureka Springs. We got there Friday night for the rehearsal dinner and had so much fun visiting with family. It was also Violet's "debut" and she got lots of loving, especially from her great-grandmother!! Nanny was so excited to meet her second great-grandchild and once she got a hold of her, she didn't want to let her go!!

McCoy had so much fun at the rehearsal dinner, too! He kept busy making sure everyone knew that Violet was his baby sister;). He always loves hanging out with his cousin, Kate. He thinks she is a lot of fun!!!

Sweet boy!

On Saturday, even though it was HOT, everyone enjoyed sight-seeing around Eureka and visiting the cute shops! We met back in the hotel every once in awhile to cooldown, though;). Nanny took advantage of this time for some more loving on Violet!

Nanny and Aunt Nancy

Saturday night, everyone got dressed up and headed to the wedding. Everything was absolutely gorgeous, especially the bride! McCoy's favorite part was the candy table and the band.

After he finished this cup, he went back for more...and more...and more!!

I guess it was the sugar that made him so wired and the fact that he loves to dance, but he had so much fun with the band. He danced with his cousins, Kate and Jordan, Gigi, and all by himself!! At one point, he was the only person on the dance floor! He had so much fun!!!!

And while McCoy was chowing down on candy and dancing, Violet was getting some loving from Nanny:)!

Unfortunately, I have no pictures of the bride and groom, but they looked fabulous!! It's amazing how busy we stayed with two kids at a wedding, but it was so much fun!! I think Violet and McCoy would agree:)!! Congratulations Bright and Cash!!
