9 Months

Yesterday was Violet's 9 month birthday! Every month that goes by is so bittersweet. I love watching her grow and learn new things, but it is going way too fast!! I can't believe her 1st birthday will be here in 3 short months!
Violet had her 9 month check-up on Friday and she did great! Dr. B was so happy with her milestones. She weighs 16 lbs 8 oz and is almost 26 inches. That puts her in the 15-20th percentile for weight and 15th percentile for height. She's still our little munchkin!!
Violet is on the move!! She doesn't like to just sit and play with a toy. She would rather explore the house. Kirk said the other day that it's very disturbing to set her down and turn around 10 seconds later and have no idea where she went! She will find the smallest crumb and put it in her mouth! I guess she's trying to tell me I should vacuum more;)! She's still pulling up to her knees, but I'm thinking she'll be on her feet in no time! She loves to wave and play patty-cake. I can start singing patty cake and she immediately starts clapping. Love it!! She loves being in her jumperoo (for a little bit) and watching her brother. He can always make her smile and laugh!
She started not loving her baby food so much so she mostly has table food now. She likes eggs, cheerios, apples, bananas, turkey, cheese, yogurt, bread with jelly, peas, guacamole, beans, noodles and pretty much whatever we're eating. I always try to give her a little taste! I've also started trying to give her a little water in her sippy cup to see if we can get her used to that.
She still wears some of her 3-6 month clothes, some 9 months, and a few 6-12. The 6-12 is a little big but she's got some cute stuff she needs to wear:)!!
She says ma-ma, da-da, and ba-ba. Today I really think she was trying to copy me when I said patty cake. She would clap her hands and say pa-pa.
Her eyes are still blue and her dark brown hair is just like her brother's! Not the color, but it is as straight as a board and sticks up all over the place!! It's so cute!!
I mentioned that she loves to explore and she does! But her favorite place to be is in someone's arms!! Sweet thing LOVES to be held. She will crawl over to you, lay down on her tummy, and start moving her arms and legs. That means "pick me up"! Love that she is still a little cuddle bug!
I could go on and on about our sweet girl so I'll just stop myself;)! We are so thankful she came into our lives and love her so so much!!! Happy 9 months, sweet girl!!

Happy Valentine's Day

Valentine's Party

On Monday, McCoy had his Valentine's party at preschool. All of the moms (or dads) signed up to help with one party and I signed up to help with the Valentine party, along with Addison's mom!! I think the kids had a great time and we were really happy with how the party turned out;)!
The kids had a snack, made an adorable craft, and played a couple of games. The funniest game was the twizzler game where they had to put their hands behind their back and eat a twizzler off the table. It was so funny and I think the kids really had a good time with it! Some of the girls weren't too excited about it though;).
Such a fun party with a sweet group of kids! Even Violet and her friend, Winnie, got to hang out!!

8 Months

January 31 was Violet's 8 month birthday!!! She's still such a happy baby!!! That is the first thing people say when they meet her. She is definitely a cuddle bug. She LOVES to be held and I am happy to do it!!! She loves her big brother and he is able to get the biggest laughs out of her. When he walks into a room, she gets really excited and starts kicking her legs. So sweet! He's pretty taken with her, too;).

She has been crawling like an inchworm for awhile. She'll get up on all 4s and scoot herself forward to her belly, then back up to all 4s. It's pretty funny and it takes her awhile to get where she is going, but she makes it! On Sunday, she started crawling on all 4s, slowly. It is still not her preferred mode, but I figure it's just a matter of time before she figures it out and then it'll be child-proof time;)!

She has two bottom teeth! Her first tooth just popped up, but she's really had to work for her second one. We've definitely had some sleepless nights with that one!

I'm really late on my 8 month post so I'm not going to put much on this one and save some for my 9 month post;). Miss Priss has been moving a LOT more and gotten quiet the personality!!! LOVE it and HER!!!

A little something about McCoy...

Once he turned 4, we gave up naps. He has a little rest time each day and it also has made our nighttimes a little smoother. Little man is EXHAUSTED! The other day I thought he was in his room playing and I went to check on him. He wasn't there, so I started calling his name and looking everywhere!! I was getting a little nervous, but I finally found him. Tired boy!!

Sprinkle for Sarah

A few weeks ago, a group of girls got together to surprise a good friend with a baby "sprinkle". Sarah is pregnant with her 3rd baby and we wanted to do something special for her. She is such a wonderful friend and we knew that she wouldn't give us permission to do anything for her, so we decided to surprise her instead;)!
We told her that a small group of us we're getting together for dinner at Noodles, and then invited a few extra friends that she wasn't expecting! We were actually able to pull off the surprise and she was so excited!! She got so many cute things for her baby girl!! Such a fun night!!!
Now we're all ready for Baby Girl to arrive and for her to have a name;)!!!!

Playing Outside

Last week, on Thursday and Friday, the weather was amazing, so I took the kids outside to burn some energy and get some fresh air!! McCoy has always LOVED being outside and I think Violet is going to love it as much as her brother. McCoy was so excited to ride his new bike and cruise around in his jeep. Violet loved watching McCoy and giving him big smiles when he drove by;). The weather has been warm one day and freezing the next, but the warm days are making us look forward to spring and summer!!

Violet is 7 months!

Violet had her 7 month birthday on Dec 31, while we were in Hot Springs. Why does 7 months seem so much older than 6?? Ahhh!!
Not a whole lot has changed since my 6 month post but there are a few things. I would now say that she is sleeping through the night!! YAY!!!! She sleeps from about 7 or 7:30-6 or 6:30. She takes 4 bottles a day and has two naps. One is around 9 and the other is normally at 2:00. Sometimes she doesn't get one of those naps, depending on her brother's schedule;). She LOVES her baby food, rice and oatmeal cereal, and yogurt. I've been feeding her twice a day (breakfast and dinner) but a couple of days ago, I started feeding her some yogurt at lunch time and she seems to really like that, too!

At 6 months, she was close to sitting up but not quite there. She has now mastered it! She still loves to lay on her belly and roll around, though. On Jan 1, she actually got up to all fours for a few seconds! She's been doing it every day since then. I'm not sure if I'm ready for her to be a crawler just yet, but we'll see!

She has said ma-ma once, when I went into her room one night to soothe her. Even Kirk heard it over the monitor! However, she hasn't said it since even though I try to get her to practice all the time;). She says da-da nonstop!!! Of course, Kirk loves it!! If you say hi and wave to her, most of the time she will wave back.

She's still such a happy, sweet baby and she loves to be held. Her favorite thing to chew on is a necklace that I wear almost everyday. As soon as I pick her up, she starts looking for it:). She giggles a lot, but her big brother gets the most of her laughs!

Looking forward to the next month and more with our sweet baby girl! Love her soo much!!

Happy New Year!!

We spent New Years' weekend in Hot Springs with my parents. McCoy went home with Pop and Gigi the Monday after Christmas, so we headed down on Friday morning to spend the weekend and bring him home. I was so excited to get there and see my little man!!
We had such a fun and relaxing weekend. Mom and I got to go see a movie and Kirk and I went to an early dinner on New Year's Eve but we mainly just relaxed at the condo! My favorite kind of weekend:)!! And while we were there, Violet turned 7 months (more on that in a later post) and got her first big boo-boo:(. She was sitting up, fell forward, and hit the corner of her eye on one of her toys. She got a little cut, so it was bleeding. It really scared me but I was so thankful it didn't get her eye... It was so close.
We had a great time, like we always do! Thanks for having us Pop and Gigi!! Can't believe it's 2012 already!!!! Happy New Year y'all!
