Waiting on McCoy...

Thursday is October 4! Why am I so excited?? Because that is my due date!! Now, I know that this doesn't mean anything but it's just so exciting to be less than a week away! I can't believe it! Kirk took this picture today, so I'm a little over 39 weeks...

Kirk and I decided to spend this weekend relaxing and enjoying our last days with just us two. Friday night we went and ate dinner at Herman's with Leanne and Hunter, and Joanna. We had a great time, like we always do when we hang out with them! Another exciting thing that happened Friday night was the Fayetteville HS vs. Springdale HS football game. I know, it sounds a little childish for me to care so much BUT, for those of you who don't know, Kirk went to Springdale and I went to Fayetteville. The exciting thing is that Fayetteville WON!!! So on Saturday morning, I got to rub it in! It was so much fun and I think Kirk's still in denial!
Saturday Kirk played golf in the morning and I headed out to do some browsing/shopping. I ran into Chad, Amanda, and Harry at Target so Amanda ended up coming along with me. We had so much fun looking for Halloween decorations and visiting some cute baby boutiques. When I got home, this is what I found...

He might as well get all his naps in while he can!!!
I also got lots of our Halloween decorations put up and maybe I took a little cat nap too... Here is our Halloween tree and our fall centerpiece on the kitchen table.

We've had a great weekend and now we're just dying for McCoy to come! Everything's ready! The only thing we're still missing is his bedding and it's supposed to come in Wednesday. I can't wait to see it!!
We're not the only ones dying to meet McCoy. You have to check out Amanda's blog. Scroll down a few posts and look at her and Harry's Note to McCoy. It is so cute! I read it for McCoy on Saturday hoping that would get him excited to meet his buddy! After hearing it, I'm sure he'll be here soon!

My Man

My new blog friend Kelly tagged me on this!

The Game of Tag about your MAN:

1. Who is your man? Kirk

2. How long have you been together? A little over 5 fun-filled years!

3. How long did you date? We dated for 2, we were engaged for 1, and have been married for a little over 2 (June 11, 2005).

4. How old is your man? He is 25.

5. Who eats more? Thankfully, him!

6. Who said "I love you" first? He did!

7. Who is taller? Kirk is a little over a foot taller than me. I'm very short... He's 6'1" and I'm 5'1/2". Yes, I had to add the 1/2 inch in there!

8. Who sings better? He would say he does and I would say I did. Truth be told, neither one of us is very good but we both like to pretend!

9. Who is smarter? It depends on what subject we're talking about...

10. Whose temper is worse? Ummm..we both don't really have one, but probably Kirk.

11. Who does the laundry? We both chip in.

12. Who takes out the garbage? Kirk, definitely

13. Who sleeps on the right side of the bed? Kirk and sometimes Sophie.

14. Who pays the bills? That job goes to Kirk too. I don't like looking at those things!!

15. Who is better with the computer? I would have to say Kirk. If something goes wrong it's up to him to fix it. However, if it's a big problem we have to call someone else!

16. Who mows the lawn? Kirk! He wouldn't let me do it if I wanted to!

17. Who cooks dinner? Mostly me, but Kirk has a few meals he's really good at.

18. Who drives when you are together? He does. He acts like he would want me to but I know he would just complain the whole time!

19. Who pays when you go out? Kirk

20. Who is most stubborn? He would say me, I would say him. Maybe that means we're both a little stubborn...

21. Who is the first to admit when they are wrong? Kirk is, he is very good at apologizing first...does that make me the stubborn one??

22. Whose parents do you see the most? Kirk's parents live here so probably them, but mine come visit lots!!

23. Who kissed who first? He kissed me, of course!

24. Who asked who out? He asked me.

25. Who proposed? Kirk did.

26. Who is more sensitive? Definitely ME!

27. Who has more friends? I think we both have the same amount of friends but I'm better at calling mine and making plans. Aren't all girls?

28. Who has more siblings? Kirk, he has two brothers and I have one sister.

29. Who wears the pants in the family? We both like to make big decisions together, so maybe we're equal?? That's a tough one... I would have to say him, though.

I tag...Amanda, Amy, Jessica, Kim, and Lauren. Can't wait to see what yall have to say!

Our First (Furry) Baby

I decided that before McCoy gets here I needed to brag a little on Kirk and I's first baby, Sophie. She is our 4 1/2 year old yellow lab that we absolutely adore! We got her the summer before our senior year in college and have been obsessed ever since. She is so spoiled but she deserves every bit of it because she is such a good, sweet-natured girl! She's great with our niece and nephew so we are not worried one bit with how she'll act when McCoy gets here...as long as we let her give him kisses every once in awhile!!

Kirk and I found Sophie in the classified ads. Kirk really wanted a very light colored yellow lab. Sophie's article said they had one light yellow and 6 black labs, so we headed to Van Buren to check it out. As soon as we walked in the door, Kirk pointed and said he wanted the yellow one. On the way home, we looked at her papers and found that we have the same birthday!!!! It was fate!
Sophie as a puppy. We didn't realize how small she was!!!

Kirk and Sophie on our first married Christmas morning...you can see Sophie's stocking full of bones in the background!

She loves to play in the snow!!

Our most recent birthday in May. Linda, my mother-in-law and Sophie's day care supervisor (yes, Linda keeps her everyday while Kirk and I are at work...we would hate for her to be home alone!!), got her this adorable birthday hat! She was so cute in it and we've saved it so she can wear it every year.

I caught her up on the bed napping one afternoon! I couldn't get mad because she just looked so cute!!!

We are so lucky to have found such a wonderful dog! I just felt like I needed a special post for her before McCoy gets here. Before long, her and McCoy will be best buddies!!

Can It Get Any Bigger?

Two weeks to go!!! Woo Hoo!!! Kirk and I are so excited and ready to bring our little boy home! It's up to him now to decide when he's ready to come out. I've been giving him daily pep talks to let him know his mommy and daddy are ready to love on him!!

Now, about the title...my stomach is HUGE!!! I just look at it and think there is no way possible for it to get any bigger, but somehow it just keeps growing. It is such a miracle how my body can adapt to take care of this growing baby! Here's the belly shot Kirk took tonight...

My bottom hand is having to hold my shirt down because I'm having trouble finding ones that actually cover it!

We had our weekly check-up on Tuesday and I had made quite a bit of progress since last week. Kirk and I were so excited to hear that! We've been going on a nightly walk to make sure McCoy drops into position, which he's almost there. The doctor said his educated guess is that I will be back for one more appt (next Tuesday) and deliver a few days early. We hope he's right!!!

So, with all this going on, Kirk and I are busy getting prepared for the big moment. Kirk is charging the video camera and has asked if I could give him 10 minutes notice to get his bag packed. My bag is mostly packed except for a few things I have to use everyday and McCoy's bag is ready to go. Here are a few things that we wanted him to have at the hospital...

We have his take home outfit which is so sweet! I can't wait to see him in it! We also have a burp cloth that says "Prince Charming", a little blankie with his name on it, and the book "On the Night You Were Born". McCoy is definitely going to want us to read it to him at the hospital. If you haven't ever read it, you have to. It is so sweet!

And, all of this cute stuff had to be in a cute bag for me to carry so here's my diaper bag...

I absolutely love this bag! Of course, Kirk will never carry it but he has his own diaper "backpack" that's very manly!

We've got a few more things to get done this weekend and we should be as ready as new parents can be. We just get more excited everyday and I'm always looking for new symptoms that might be a sign of early labor but I'm still feeling good. McCoy seems content to stay where he is for now so his mommy and daddy are being very patient!

Loving Our Nursery!

Ok, well McCoy's nursery is ALMOST done but I'm so excited I just couldn't wait to put pics up! We still haven't gotten our bedding yet, but I'm hoping for the end of this week or the beginning of next. Other than that, there's a few more things we're needing but I figured I would just pick those up as we go. I want to find the perfect stuff!

One of my favorite things in the room is a plaque on the wall that reads "how can I thank God enough for you?" I absolutely love it!

We have a dr's appt tomorrow. Only 2 1/2 weeks to go! I can not believe it!!! We're anxious to see what the doctor has to say. My stomach is so hard I feel like there is absolutely no more room in there for him. I hope he's not feeling too squished!!

I plan to post a belly shot on Thursday, which will be exactly two weeks from our due date. I feel like it has flown by but we're definitely ready to meet our little guy!

Work Shower

After work yesterday, some of my coworkers threw Baby McCoy a shower! It was lots of fun and McCoy was spoiled beyond belief...with food and presents! Nancy knows how much I love petit fors so she made sure to have those, Amy made some wonderful cookies, and Janis put together the best punch I have ever tasted!!! YUMMY!

These petit fors were arranged to read "Welcome McCoy Samuel Miller". However, I had to get this picture quick because everyone was dying to get their hands on them!

Like I mentioned, we got so many great gifts! The people I work with are so great and they LOVE baby showers! Lots of people stayed late to celebrate and they all chipped in to get us lots of toys and necessities. Because of them we've now got our swing and activity center!! I was just so excited and I couldn't thank them enough!

Robin, Me, Nancy, Janis, and Amy

These girls worked so hard to make the shower extra special!! I work next to these 4 everyday and we have so much fun! I was so thankful to them for putting everything together! They are the best!

McCoy's Fayetteville Couples Shower

Last night some great friends of mine gave McCoy a great shower! The hosts and hostesses are all some of my friends from high school and they, as always, went above and beyond to put it together!

The hostesses and me

Lauren, Lindsey, Me, Joanna, and Leanne

I also have to thank their husbands (Daniel, Drew, and Hunter) for helping out but not making the picture.

Starting to get the table set...

The food was excellent but my favorite part was probably the iced cookies...

They were great and I don't think there were very many left at all! I don't think anyone enjoyed them more than me! Except Jessica's niece, Brooklyn! She like to eat them from the middle! She is too cute!

After eating, we opened our presents and got some great gifts! McCoy got lots of bath toys, fun clothes, and books. Even his Mommy and Daddy got a gift of their own! Kirk and I each got our own little toiletries bag that say "New Mom" and "New Dad". They came with houseshoes, toothbrush holder, soap holder, and shampoo and conditioner. Our very favorite thing was the eye cover that say "Daddy Sleeping" and "Mommy Sleeping". We had to try them out for a little bit after opening all the presents.

Joanna did an excellent job of setting all the presents up for display...

We were so glad that all McCoy's grandparents were there to join in on the fun!

Kirk, MeMe, Dig, Pop, Gigi, and Me

I also got to spend lots of time visiting and catching up with high school friends! We had so much fun laughing and telling funny stories from our junior high and high school days. I haven't laughed so hard in a long time!

Lauren, Joanna, Lindsey, Ellen, Me, Leanne, Emily, Molly, and Jennifer

I was also excited that a couple of the girls I teach aerobics with were able to make it. It was so sweet of them to come and since I haven't taught in a while....it was great to catch up! Can't wait to get back into it and start seeing them more often!

Allison and Reagan

We had such a great time laughing and visiting with everyone! We ended up staying until 12:00! It was so much fun!

Thanks again girls for the great shower! It was so much fun and McCoy can't wait to meet all of you!

I'm Back...

I was on a roll with posting regularly and then we ran into some computer problems! However, I think they might mostly be fixed now...fingers crossed!
Now to the important stuff! Today I'm at 36 weeks!! Only 4 more left!! I can not believe how fast it has gone. We went to the doctor on Tuesday and I'm making progress so everything looks like it's right on track. YEAH! Still feeling pretty good. My hips get sore if I'm up walking or standing too much and my sciatic nerve is definitely bothering me some but other than that everything's perfect!
Not much has been going on these past two weeks. Just trying to get everything ready. The goal for this weekend is to have the nursery completely done just waiting for the bedding...which should be here very shortly. We also have another shower planned for this weekend so we should stay really busy. It should be lots of fun!
Sorry that I have no pictures for this post...I know it's dull, but I just wanted everyone to know I was still here! I will have lots to post about this weekend and probably lots of pictures to go with it! So please don't get bored with me!
And I need to say Happy Birthday to Jessica! I hope you had a great day!
