Chicken Dance

McCoy loves to dance and he's got great rhythm...at least his mommy and daddy think so! Last Easter, Gigi got him a chicken that sings a song when you press its foot. He liked it last year, but now that he's older he thinks it's hilarious!
Kirk and I took some video of him playing with it this afternoon. It's kind of long but I knew that grandparents would love it! And I think Gigi could use some McCoy videos tonight. Enjoy!
At the end of the first one, I got him to blow a kiss. He loves blowing kisses!

During the second one, he puts Kirk's shoe on, with my help. He's really into trying to put his own shoe on these days and lately, he's been trying to put on ours, too!

Golfing Lessons with Daddy

Last night after McCoy's bath, Kirk decided he wanted to go outside and hit some golf balls. McCoy didn't like that idea and thought that daddy should give him some lessons instead!

"This club is the perfect size for me!"

"Ok, so you just hold it like this..."

"Maybe it will work better if I face this way..."

"Enough for one day! Next week, same time!"

St. Patrick's Day Playdate

This is the life!!

On Tuesday afternoon, Addison and her mommy came over for a playdate! McCoy was so excited! These two are so cute together! They have so much fun and love playing together. It is so neat to watch them interact with each other. Not to mention, the mommies love getting in some talk time, too!

"Check out these guns, Addison!"

Such a gentleman!

McCoy took a spin in the cozy coupe, while Addison tried out the bubble mower and ate some mulch...

"What brand of mulch is this?? We've got to get this in our yard, mom!!"

We are so glad they got to come over and can't wait for the next time!

Little Rock Marathon

This past weekend, we went to Little Rock so Kirk could run in the LR marathon on Sunday. We left Friday afternoon after we picked McCoy up from MDO and arrived just in time for dinner. My parents also happened to be in LR because dad was having surgery on his hand (more on that later).
On Saturday, my parents took McCoy to El Dorado with them so Kirk could get rested up for the big race (or fun run, as Kirk likes to call it!). So, on Sat. night we planned to get to bed early so Kirk could be ready to go early in the morning, but some guests in our hotel thought that was a bad idea!!! There was some type of convention going on and there were some teenage girls in the room next to us. They played music, talked REALLY loud, and jumped on the bed until the cops finally showed up at 2 am!!! The girls had to be put in rooms with chaperones and we were finally able to get to sleep around 2:30 and woke up at 6:00 for a total of 3 1/2 hours of sleep!! It was fine for me, but not so fine if you're wanting to run 26.2 miles in the morning!

"Wake up, Kirk! The fun run is about to begin!"

There's a smile! Good luck!

Even with lack of sleep, Kirk finished the marathon in a little over 4 1/2 hours. I was standing at the finish line looking for him, but somehow he managed to run right past me without me getting picture!

At one point, I saw 4 girls cross the finish line in cute matching tops, holding hands, and looking really excited. I got this idea in my head that maybe I could get some friends together and we could train and do it next year. So I started thinking of who I could call and then about 2 minutes later, I decided I'd rather just be a spectator! I've gotten pretty good at that!!!

After the marathon, Kirk and I went to El Dorado for the night. McCoy was having lots of fun and was acting like he didn't even miss us!!! But, I'm sure he did! Or so I keep telling myself...

Throwing the ball with Pop and Gigi!

Hugs for Pop!

Notice the HUGE cast on dad's arm?? He broke a little triangular bone in his hand last summer playing golf. It's a bone that is hard to find on x-rays so they thought it was just sprained. He finally went to a specialist when it wouldn't quit hurting and found out it was broken, had fused back together incorrectly, and had formed a cyst. He had also torn some ligaments. So he went in Friday for surgery and they were planning to do everything laparoscopically (I know that spelling is wrong!). However, he woke up with a full cast because there was more damage then they thought so they had to cut into his hand! McCoy was giving Pop lots of hugs to make up for it, though!

McCoy's new thing is that he loves to sit in chairs at the table. Probably because everybody else does it. So he had breakfast on Monday in a big boy chair. He is growing up way too fast!

Loving the Weather!

McCoy's new smiley face!

"Let me get a picture of you, mommy!"

Now that we have had our first taste of warm weather, we are ready for spring and summer! I've mentioned before that McCoy loves playing outside and that is all we have done the past few days. It is really making me look forward to this summer and how much fun we're going to have.
Since it was getting warmer, we went a got him a bubble mower so he could help daddy with the yard...kind of! He loved it and really thought it was fun once he figured out where all the bubbles were coming from!

"Look at all the bubbles!"

"Daddy doesn't ever do a good job when he mows the driveway!"

Learning to Use a Spoon

McCoy has been working a little bit with using a spoon but he normally ends up playing with it and making a huge mess! No food makes it into his mouth but there is a lot on the floor, on the wall, all over Sophie, and in his chair!
Like most kids, McCoy loves to play with our cooking utensils. He had this spoon and when it was time for dinner he didn't want to let go. It was so cute watching him try to use it to scoop out of his little bowl! He couldn't quite figure out how to handle it!

"Maybe I need a bigger bowl..."

"Who wants a bite??"
