Playdates in L.A.

This weekend McCoy was a busy boy! He had a few friends come over to play at Pop and Gigi's house.
On Sunday afternoon, Edmond came over for a little bit. He's about 6 weeks younger than McCoy so it was fun to watch them interact. Everytime one of them would start crying, the other one would start in, too. It was so funny!

Edmond and McCoy

"Should I cry, too??"

On Sunday night McCabe, who is 5, came over to hang out with McCoy. McCabe is so outgoing and funny! He was also very sweet to McCoy. They had a lot of fun!

Kirk played in a golf tournament this weekend in L.A. On Sunday afternoon, his partner, Dale, came to pick him up and they were matching!!! We thought it was so funny! Dale eventually had to change when everyone at the golf course was making fun of them. It made a cute picture though!!

Pop's Barbershop

McCoy has a lot of hair for a baby his age and he's been in need of a trim for a while now. I've been putting it off because I feel like that means he's a big boy now and it makes me sad!! I wanted to keep his hair fairly long but I just wanted his bangs cut out of his eyes and a little trim around his ears. And maybe chop the beginning stages of the mullet off the back, too...
Anyways, Pop assured me that he was very good at cutting hair so after his nap on Sunday we decided it was time!! We sat him in his chair and bribed him with a fruit strip to keep him still.
Before...

After...

He looks like such a big boy now and I'm so sad!!! I almost cried throughout the haircut! I don't think we'll be getting anymore for a long time. McCoy did great and stayed very still but it was entirely too traumatic for Mommy and Daddy!
Don't get me wrong, he still looks so cute! It's just really tough for me to think that he's old enough to need a haircut!

Choo-Choo!

Kirk, McCoy, and I came down to L.A. on Friday. Kirk had to head back this morning but McCoy and I are having so much fun we didn't want to leave!! So we're staying for a few more days to get some more Gigi and Pop lovin'!
Gigi and Pop had some new toys for McCoy to try out and he is loving this train! He likes to ride on it and when he's done with that, he tips it over!

Poor Gigi! Everytime she gets McCoy toys we always end up taking them home because he loves them so much! I'm not sure if we'll have enough room in the car for this train, though....

Kisses for Sophie and Little Climber

McCoy loves Sophie! He chases after her and loves to try and climb on her back when she's lying down. Today he tried to give her kisses through the window! He's such a sweet boy!

On another note, I hope everyone had a great weekend! I know that we did but they always go way too fast! Saturday Kirk and I went to the Razorback game...should've stayed home!! But we still had a good time. The best part was the band's rendition of Thriller! They did the whole dance while the drums played...very cute!!

Saturday night we met the Ware's at church and then went out to eat with them afterwards. It was lots of fun and very entertaining with two noisy boys!! Harry and McCoy were actually pretty well behaved considering we had to wait for 45 minutes to get a table at Olive Garden!! Is that place always packed???

When we got home last night, Kirk ended up being sick. I'm not sure if he had a little food poisoning or some type of virus. Today we decided to take it easy at home since he wasn't feeling well. We had lots of fun playing in the backyard!

McCoy's new favorite toy...Sophie's collar!

Just hangin' out!

While we were outside, McCoy learned a new trick!! He climbed up the two deck stairs!! YEAH!! Another first!!

Here he goes...

"Look mama, one handed!"

Victory!

We were so excited!! I've even started to notice today that sometimes he only uses one hand to pull up to things and is walking better when we hold his hands.

After all of that climbing, he needed to rest so he went and loved on his sick daddy!

American Idols Live

This past weekend, Leanne and I headed to Tulsa for the American Idol concert!!! We drove up Saturday to hang out with Lauren and do a little shopping. Before we left for the concert we got some pics of my two prego best friends!

Don't they look amazing??

Close-up of Jackson (due in Jan.) and Holden (due in Dec.)

Back to the concert-I know...we're complete nerds and we were surrounded by teeny boppers, but we had a blast! The top 10 idols were there and they all sang 3 songs and did one all together. David Archuleta got 4 songs and David Cook got 5. We definitely decided that they all sound even better in person!
They started at the 10th person (Chikezie) and worked their way up to David Cook, my favorite!
I didn't get any pics of Chikezie but he did a great job and seemed like such a nice guy! I always loved him on the show and I hope he gets a record deal or something.
Next up was Ramiele. She wasn't one of my favorites on the show, but she sounded a little bit better live...

After Ramiele, came Michael Johns. He did a great job, of course!! But I was completely disgusted by this new moustache (sp?) he has. I think he was doing it as a joke or at least I hope so. Anyways, I picked a picture so you can see what it looked like...

Not so cute...

After him was Kristy Lee Cook and she did good, too. She sang God Bless America. No pics of her either...

Then was Carly Smithson who was absolutely amazing!! She sang an Evanescence song and she looks great! Her outfit was so cute!!

Next up was Brooke White!!! Love, love, love her! She played the piano and guitar.

After the first 6 sang, they all came back out and did a song together. Here's a pic of the 4 girls...

Then it was time for the top 4!!!

Jason Castro sang Somewhere Over the Rainbow. He was great!!! He was still really goofy when he tried to talk in between songs so it was pretty funny! I always loved him on the show!!

Syesha is a natural performer! She looked amazing and did a great job! She sang an Alicia Keys song. Leanne and I were very jealous of her calves!

When David Archuleta came on, teenage girls and women were bawling, screaming, and hugging each other!! It was the most amazing thing I have ever seen!!! A woman behind us who was probably in her early to mid-5o's, almost passed out and was wiping tears from her eyes!! And we overheard a girl sitting a few seats down tell her friend that she was going to marry him! I have a feeling he'll have no problem selling records!! He did do a great job and still is completely shocked that people want to cheer for him. He sang Angels and Apologize.

Then it was time for David Cook!! He has his hair cut quite a bit shorter than it was and it looks much better. He sang Time of My Life (of course), Billie Jean, and Don't Want to Miss a Thing. He was also a great performer! He came out in the audience and I thought people were going to tackle him!! Also, someone threw their panties on the stage!!

After the concert, Leanne and I headed for the car. We knew that we were parked in a parking garage, so we came out the door of the BOK Center and immediately headed to the first parking garage that we saw. Also, we were in the middle of a storm...serious winds and lots of rain. My umbrella was pointless because it just kept blowing up , so we decided to go without and just get soaked. We get to the parking garage and I keep saying I didn't think it looked right. As we're climbing the stairs in a big crowd of people (SOAKED) we look out and see another parking garage on the other side of the BOK Center that looks a little familiar.... So we turn around and head back down the stairs out into the rain to our car!!! We were completely soaked and our feet hurt by the time we found the car, but we were laughing so hard!!!

We had so much fun and I'm now really looking forward to the next season of AI!! I don't know how it will be able to top this year's!

Playdate with Addison

On Tuesday, Addison and Amanda came over to play! McCoy had gotten so used to hanging out with Addison at swim lessons and the library, that he was missing her when it was all over.

It was so cute to watch them interact with each other. A couple of times McCoy stole Addison's toys, but then he would give it back...other times, he didn't!

McCoy was really into Addison and kept wanting to touch her face. Also, he has a little problem with hitting. When he's by himself, he loves to bang on things and make loud noises, so a few times he got Addison in the head. I told Kirk when he got home that night we're going to start having to tell McCoy "no" when he hits one of us. I don't want him to be a big bully!!! Also, I think he might have been flirting a little. How could he not?? Addison is such a cutie!

We were so glad they were able to come over and hang out with us for a little bit! Can't wait for next time!

New Tooth!!!

On Friday morning, we woke up to a new tooth poking through McCoy's gums! His upper left central incisor is making it's debut! With the bottom two teeth, he was just a little fussy, but this one was quite different. He had been drooling like crazy for a couple of days. I had to change his shirt several times because it was DRENCHED!!! We had a few more diaper changes than usual and he got really fussy when it was time for his morning nap. I gave him some Orajel and Motrin and he eventually passed out in my lap! He woke up a couple of hours later and was back to his old self! I wonder when the right one is going to poke through...

**I have to thank Amanda for knowing the correct names of teeth!! Otherwise, I would've just called it his left center tooth!

Labor Day at the Lake

On Sunday afternoon, McCoy , Kirk, and I headed out to the lake to spend some time with MeMe, Dig, aunts, uncles, and our niece and nephew. It was McCoy's first time on the boat and in a life jacket! He didn't really love the life jacket but he still did great and had lots of fun!

MeMe with her grandkids...and Aunt Jessica!

McCoy loving on his Daddy

(Notice Kirk's farmer's tan...ha!)

McCoy loved watching Kirk swim and he loves water, so we decided to let him get in the lake! He had a ball!

They looked like they were having so much fun, I even decided to brave the unknown and jump in with them! This might have had something to do with the fact that Kirk had already pushed me in from the jet ski earlier...THANKS! I have to say, it's hard holding on to a baby and treading around in the water! What a workout!

Here is a short video of Kirk and McCoy splashing around...

We had so much fun spending time with everyone and it was a great day to be on the lake! I hope everyone else had a wonderful Labor Day weekend!
