McCoy's First Halloween Costume!

McCoy had a very busy first halloween! He's only 3 weeks old but he had two hats, two outfits and a costume to wear!! We had to fit it all in today! He was such a trooper while I changed his outfit several times and took him all over town to see several of his fans.

This is his first outfit of the day. His shirt says "Little Pumpkin". We went and saw all of my friends from work and ended up hanging out there for 3 hours! They are such a fun group and I miss them lots! We had so much to catch up on and McCoy did a great job of visiting with everyone.
Once we got home, it was time to get in his costume and head out to trick or treat! Before we left, Aunt Sara came by to see him in his cute costume.

Our first stop was at Uncle Clint and Aunt Molly's to see Owen and Anna Grace's adorable costumes and eat chili. The chili was great and we got some really cute pictures of all the kids.

Our next stop was at Leanne and Hunter's. Their nieces were there, too. They are so cute! They loved McCoy and were so good with him. And, Leanne and I had on the same shirt!!

Our last stop was at Kasey and Jordan's. They were so glad to see McCoy and we had lots of fun hanging out with them.

McCoy had so much fun going to visit lots of his friends tonight. It was definitely a memorable halloween for all 3 of us! However, by the time we started to head home, he was definitely tired and ready for bed!

Loving Every Minute

Our sweet baby is three weeks old today!! It is flying by way too fast!! Kirk and I are having so much fun with McCoy. Everyday is a new adventure and we love watching him grow and do new things. Just today I noticed how much more alert he is getting. He loves listening to music!! He only cries when he's hungry or when he has gas...he might be embarrassed that I wrote that later. He's got big blue eyes that I could just stare at all day long and quite a bit of light brown hair.

He has gotten to where he's not sleeping as much during the day. He only got in one really good nap this afternoon, the rest of the day we played.

To say that McCoy is Kirk and I's new obsession would be putting it lightly. Every noise or facial expression he makes we're calling each other in the room to look at him. We just can't get enough!!

As you can see, he had a pretty busy day! We're so blessed to have this sweet boy in our lives. We are definitely loving every minute!!

McCoy + Harry = BFF

Friday night, the Ware's came over with dinner for us! The dinner was great, but playing with our boys was even more fun!
Amanda and I have a lot of the same tastes when it comes to baby clothes so Harry and McCoy have several of the same outfits. We planned to put them in one of our favorites and take some pictures of them together. It was a little difficult to do because Harry was having lots of fun checking out McCoy's toys, but we got a few good ones.

Aren't these two adorable?? As you can see, McCoy's outfit is a little big but we had to get them in this outfit together before Harry grew out of his. They look too cute!



Chad has such a calming effect on people, especially McCoy. As soon as Chad got him, McCoy was fast asleep! If we ever can't get him down, we know who to call!!

While Chad spoiled McCoy, Kirk played with Harry. They were so funny! Harry absolutely loves Kirk and Kirk absolutely loves Harry! They laughed at each other all night!

They played so hard, they got a little worn out and tried to take a cat nap on the boppy.

When it came time for McCoy's bedtime bottle, Amanda took over. McCoy says she's a pro at feeding him!

We had so much fun! We kept talking about how different things were from when we used to get together with no babies 18 mths ago. It's so funny how things change so quickly and we wouldn't have it any other way!!! These two boys make our nights together that much more fun!

McCoy Loves Company!

Since McCoy has been here, we've had lots and lots of visitors! This week was no exception and McCoy loves all the company!

Wednesday we went over to my mother-in-law's so McCoy could visit with his Dig, MeMe, and great grandmother, Mama T. She loved holding her 3rd great grandchild and loving on him. She even brought him a Halloween present!

Shortly after we got home, Jeff, Marshawn, and Charlie brought us a wonderful dinner! Marshawn thought of everything! The meal was great and the lemon cookies were to die for. YUM!

Jeff was Kirk's AAU basketball coach when Kirk was in high school. I think Jeff's talking to McCoy about getting a team started up again!

Charlie is absolutely adorable. She'll be 2 in January but she loved all of McCoy's toys. She loved laughing at Henry and chasing him around! Too cute!

Friday, my friend Leanne came over and brought me lunch. We just loved on McCoy and listened to him make little noises. McCoy loves Leanne!

We've had such a fun week! We are so lucky to have so many caring friends and family that do so much for us! We love you all!!

McCoy's First (and second) Bath

Tuesday McCoy's umbilical cord fell out so Kirk and I gave him the very much anticipated FIRST BATH! Combined with the fact that he was a little fussy that evening and this is our first child so we're not exactly positive as to what in the world we're doing...it didn't go so well. He was not liking it at all! Kirk got the water all ready for him (it might have been a little too cold...) and then he handed him to me to stick in the tub (I might have let his head go under a little too much...). This just set the mood off as not so good!! He cried the whole time!

Now, isn't here some rule that first time parents get several get out of jail free cards?? So, we tried it again on Wednesday night (McCoy was happy, water was warmer, and no ears went under water). Things went great!!! He loved it!!

"Warm water-check, paci-check, dry ears-check!"

"Maybe those two aren't so bad..."

We were so excited that everything went well on Wednesday. Now we can look forward to bathtime every night!

Our Little Prince

McCoy Samuel is two weeks old today! I can't believe it! He is growing so fast and just gets more and more gorgeous every day! Since today was a special day, we had lots of picture time. What am I saying?? Everyday we have lots of picture time!! We also had a dr's appt that went really well.
Here he is this morning before getting his "mini" bath and putting on his outfit for the day. I love these pajamas!! Katie and Brian gave him these when they came to visit. He looks adorable in them. Kirk always says he looks like a monk! Too cute!

We haven't been able to give him a full bath yet because he still had his umbilical cord. So, every morning I wash him off with a wash cloth before getting him dressed. Needless to say, he doesn't really like it...at all! But, being his mommy, I even think his cry face is cute so here it is...

I really hate for him to cry and he only cries when he's hungry or getting wiped off, but at least he looks cute doing it!

And of course, I had to take his two week picture by his frog. He looks so big compared to his one week picture! I love to watch him grow, but he's just doing it way too fast!

At our dr's appt today, they said he weighs 9 lbs 4 oz. So he's gained 11 oz in 11 days, which they were really happy about. I guess that means feeding is going well!! Yeah! We were worried about that because last week I got mastitis. If you haven't ever had it, be thankful!! It makes you feel like you have the flu and it hurts to nurse. Luckily, my mom was here to help out while I rested. But I'm feeling 10 times better this week!!

At two weeks old, McCoy is a very content baby. He loves riding in the car, sitting in his bouncy seat, or being held. He's got big blue eyes! I also think he's very laid-back.

Today his umbilical cord fell out. So, that means tonight, he's getting a real bath!! Kirk and I are so excited and we really hope he likes it. We'll get pictures up as soon as we can!!!

Kyle and Jessica Got Hitched!

Last night McCoy's Uncle Kyle and Aunt Jessica got married! It was Kirk and I's second night out without our little boy...the first was the rehearsal dinner. However, we knew he was in great hands with his Gigi and Pop so we were not at all worried.

McCoy did come to take family photos before the wedding and did a great job. He was very hungry so thank goodness for pacis!! He took some really cute pics with Uncle Kyle, Aunt Jessica, and all their nieces and nephews and then he took one with the whole Miller family. Once those are out, I'll try and get them posted.

The ceremony was gorgeous and Jessica looked great! The reception afterwards was lots of fun! It was a great chance for Kirk and I to catch up with everyone about what had been going on in the outside world...and we did quite a bit of talking about McCoy too!

We always have so much fun laughing with these couples when we're together. Kirk and I decided after looking at these two pictures that we have really tall friends and we're the short couple! I mean, I know I'm short but Kirk's 6' tall!!

After dinner, they had a great band and Owen broke it down on the dance floor! It was so funny and he was having a blast! He even had some great kick moves that were so cute!

Jessica's dress was absolutely gorgeous and she looked gorgeous in it. She was very relaxed and looked like she was having a great time!

Kyle looked like he was having a blast, too! After the wedding, they are heading to Mexico for their honeymoon. I know they are going to have so much fun! We can't wait to see their pictures when they get back! CONGRATULATIONS!

Our One Week Old

Yesterday was McCoy's one week birthday!!! In a way, I can't believe he has already been here for a week, but in another way, I can't really remember a time without him. Does that make any sense at all??? A few things I want to remember are that he is very alert in the morning and early afternoon, but stays pretty sleepy the rest of the day. His fussiest time is around 5:00, but other than that he's pretty laid back. Kirk and I just feel so blessed to be able to love on him everyday! We are absolutely in love with this little guy!!!!
McCoy had a very busy one week birthday. We took a little outing to the mall so that I could get a dress for Kyle and Jessica's wedding this weekend and he was an absolute angel! We also ran by the hospital to see my friend Kathryn's new baby boy, Connor. He is an absolute doll and McCoy can't wait for them to be able to play together! We didn't get any pictures, but plan to go visit them soon!
Since it was such a special day, we let McCoy do his favorite activity before bedtime. He chose to sit on the bed in his bouncy seat, with his paci, and watch football with daddy! They had so much fun!

We also had a few visitors come by. Kyle never got a chance to hold McCoy at he hospital, so him and Jessica came by for dinner and to love on their newest nephew. McCoy had so much fun talking to them!

And Sandy Ware came by to love on him, too! She brought some of the cutest burp cloths and blankets that her mother and mother-in-law had made. Everything was bright colors just like his room. McCoy loved meeting Harry's Mimi!

McCoy had a great day and he can't wait to see what kind of fun he has on his two week birthday!
