Halloween Party at Preschool

This morning, McCoy had a Halloween party at preschool. We talked about his party yesterday, so he woke up and told me it was time to get up and get ready for Halloween;).
The plan was that the kids were going to head out and trick or treat downtown as soon as everyone got there. Then, come back to the class for snacks and activities. I had told his teacher that I would help and walk with the kids downtown. So I dressed up the kids in their adorable Halloween shirts (I even washed them last night since they wore them yesterday) and we got to school on time, camera and trick-or-treat bag in tow. I felt like I was on top of it!! When we get there, I realize lots of the kids have on their costume...in fact, everyone does, except for McCoy!! For some reason, it just never crossed my mind to put his costume on. McCoy didn't care but I felt AWFUL!! So, while they went trick-or-treating, I ran home and got his costume. I still feel guilty that he went trick-or-treating without his costume and can't believe I didn't think to put it on him. I even called Kirk on my way home to get it and he thought I was crazy for not putting him in his costume.
However, no matter how crazy his mama is, McCoy still had a blast!! Since we were getting McCoy's costume, I decided to go ahead and put Violet in her's, too. I mean, who is Peter Pan without Tinkerbell????
The party was lots of fun! McCoy got to eat his favorite cookies, play some pumpkin bowling and throw spiders in a bucket. He also got LOTS of candy that I think looks very tasty;)!!

Blocktoberfest

Last night, we took the kids to the Halloween Carnival at our church. It was amazing!!! They had a ton of bounce houses (McCoy's favorite), lots of carnival rides, games, and yummy food! McCoy had so much fun!! Mommy even participated in a few of the rides;). One of McCoy's besties, Zach, was there and McCoy was so excited to see him! We all had so much fun and McCoy did not want to leave!!!

The whole thing wore Violet out;)

He went down this slide about 50 times!! Loved it!

Had to get a pic with the fire truck before he left... and he slept with his fire truck last night;)

Violet's 1st Taste of Cereal

Yesterday, we decided it was time to start Violet on some rice cereal. My main hope was that it would help her sleep through the night;)!
I'm not really sure if she actually swallowed any of it but I know she definitely got a taste of it. I also can't decide if she liked it or not. She gave us lots of yucky faces but lots of smiles too! McCoy was also very excited for her to try it and wanted to help. He did a great job of feeding her and I only had to tell him once not to put the spoon so far back in her mouth;)! I think McCoy loves experiencing all of Violet's firsts just as much as Kirk and I do!!!
And today is Violet's 5 month birthday:)!! WOW! 5 month post coming soon...

Fresh-faced and ready to eat!!

Start with a few licks...

and then a full-on taste

She likes it....

...or maybe not!

She'll just eat her Bumbo instead;)

Such a big helper!!!

My Boys:)

Yesterday, Kirk was standing in front of the TV watching football. McCoy walked up and crossed his arms just like daddy. Luckily, I was right by the camera. Love these two!!

McCoy's Halloween Bash

Where has the time gone??? I can't believe that my baby boy is 4 years old!!! His actual birthday is October 9, and we spent that weekend in El Dorado with a Toy Story cake:)!! Our camera also decided to break while we were there (again...) so I'll have to get pics from Pop and post on that later. And I also need to do a post of what McCoy is like at 4! So much to remember!!!

On October 20th, we had a Halloween themed birthday party at Farmland Adventures. Even though it was chilly, everyone had a blast and I'm already thinking I'm going to have his next birthday party there, too!! It has a petting zoo, pony rides, hay tower, wagon ride, and corn box. Since McCoy's party was on a week day we had the whole place to ourselves!! Definitely our easiest, and most fun birthday so far!! Happy Birthday, McCoy!!!!
