Soccer Pictures

On Saturday, McCoy's soccer team had their pictures. It was also our first time to see their uniforms. Kirk picked #11 for McCoy because it was Kirk's baseball # in high school. I think it was a very proud moment for daddy;).
They all look so cute in their uniforms! It was so entertaining to watch them get their pictures made. The group pic was last and a lot of them were pretty much done at that point. It was so funny!!! I can't wait to see the official pic but here are a few that I took from Cy's mama's blog. Love them!!

Soccer Practice

On Monday, McCoy had his very first soccer practice. McCoy was really looking forward to it and so were Kirk and I! We were a little bit worried about it being so hot, but it rained that afternoon, so it was windy and the perfect temperature!
We all had so much fun at practice!! McCoy did great and I think he's really going to enjoy it. It's so funny watching them. His coach said it perfectly when he called it "herding cats". They are everywhere but having so much fun, and that is what matters to me.
I am really looking forward to his first soccer season! Also, we know most of the kids on his team so I know that they're going to have a blast together! We are already looking forward to the next practice! I can't believe that he's old enough to play, so it's very bittersweet...but then all his milestones are:).
Here are a "few" pics that we took...

Two Month Check-Up

This past Monday, Aug 1, I took Violet for her 2 month check-up. I was really curious to see how much she had grown since her last visit. It looks like the little miss gets her height from her mama...she is 20.87 inches long, which puts her in the 5th percentile for height. She can thank me for that later;)! She weighs 10 lbs 8 1/2 oz. which puts her in the 45th percentile for weight. Dr. B was very happy with her weight gain!! She had to get some shots, too but she did great and cried for just a little bit. McCoy went with us to the appointment and insisted that Dr. B check him out too, so in case you were wondering, his ears look great;)!
I really feel like we have all adjusted to having a baby in the house and we're loving it!! Violet is such a great baby! Our nights have gotten much better in the past week. She'll go about 4 or 5 hours before she wakes up to eat and normally sleeps until about 7:00 every morning. She loves for us to talk to her and to try and talk back. She also smiles A LOT when we're talking to her! I can't get enough of her sweet smiles, so I'm glad she likes giving them:). She also really likes laying in her activity mat and looking at her light. She normally takes a good morning nap and a good afternoon nap, both in her crib. She has a little fussy period at night, around 7:00, but I feel like that is kind of stopping...knock on wood. If she is fussy, it always helps to take her outside for a little bit and she'll calm right down.
And McCoy is an amazing big brother!! He still LOVES his sister. She is the first thing he asks about when he wakes up in the morning and the last person he wants to kiss before bed at night. He loves laying under her activity mat with her and telling her what he's been doing during the day. He's very good at singing her songs, too but his favorite is Old MacDonald had a Farm. So sweet to hear him ask her to pick an animal!! He's gotten better at being gentle with his kisses but we still have some moments where he has to be reminded. I LOVE how much he loves her and my prayer is that it will never stop!!!
I am loving being a mom to these two babies! I find myself thinking at least once a day how much I love being at home with them and how much happiness they bring me. I know I say this a lot but I just feel so blessed!!!
Here are some random pictures from July of the two sweeties:)...

Family Get Together

This past weekend, my mom's two sisters and their families met us in Hot Springs for some fun on the lake!! One of my aunt's lives with her family in North Carolina so we don't get to see them very often:(. We were really looking forward to visiting with them!!
We had an amazing weekend visiting, hanging out on the lake, and eating lots of yummy food (thanks, mom)! I didn't get nearly as many pictures as I planned on but here are a few from the boat. My mom and Aunt TeTe didn't make any pics because they stayed inside with Violet;)!

The next picture makes me laugh! It's Kirk and I on the tube... As soon as we got on and the boat got ready to take off, Kirk and I were wondering what made us decide to do this??? I just had a baby two months ago and he just had back surgery in March!! We were feeling like maybe it was a bad idea but we did it anyway! We had lots of fun but we were both so sore the next day!! I told Kirk that we're getting old;).
