Christmas Fun!

We're back from El Dorado! We had such a good time with my family, opening gifts and playing games (Dad's the Trivial Pursuit champ). We went there Saturday morning and got back on Wednesday. I haven't been able to spend that much time there since I was in college so it really was special!
Like I mentioned in the last post, the car was PACKED! Sara was very kind and shared her seat with both dogs for a little bit of the way. In this picture, I think Sophie is trying to make me feel sorry for her...

My mom is an excellent decorator and when I was growing up our house was always completely decked out for Christmas, Halloween, Easter, you name it! The dining room has always been my favorite. This is right before we sat down to eat...

And Dad carving (eating) the turkey...

On a side note, Kirk has been a mountain man since Thanksgiving. He has not shaved at all and it was beginning to drive me crazy. The deal was that he had to shave on Christmas day. But. before he shaved he wanted to take a picture of himself with everyone and by everyone I mean dogs too! They turned out to be really cute but there's too many to post. Here's him with my parents' dog, Sebastian right before the big shave...

And during the big shave...

And after the big shave...

Isn't he handsome???
And about the matching pajamas, my mom, sister, and I always get them to wear on Christmas Eve (this year they were adorable zebra). Now that there's another boy in the family, we decided that they should do the same. Kirk and dad have been incredibly cooperative!
I hope everyone had a very Merry Christmas!! I can't wait for next year!!

Love the dinning room table spread! Beautiful!
Yes, I want to see the Zebra pj's too!
I got the biggest chuckle of the picture of the dogs in the backseat-the lab does look like he is a bit uncomfortable but I'm sure he was happy he got to come along!

Hi Rachel! I'm Amanda's friend, and I've been enjoyed reading your blog! The dining room table is gorgeous! My husband became a mountain man with my brother-in-law for a ski trip, and they shaved it into some pretty scary things before shaving it completely. I don't mind the beard for a short time, but I was glad to have him back cleanly shaven!

I've heard so many wonderful things about you, too, and I'm so excited to have another fun blog to read!

I would definately vote for the clean cut kirk as opposed to the
earthy-kirk.

Love your mom's dining table.
