Two Month Check-Up

This past Monday, Aug 1, I took Violet for her 2 month check-up. I was really curious to see how much she had grown since her last visit. It looks like the little miss gets her height from her mama...she is 20.87 inches long, which puts her in the 5th percentile for height. She can thank me for that later;)! She weighs 10 lbs 8 1/2 oz. which puts her in the 45th percentile for weight. Dr. B was very happy with her weight gain!! She had to get some shots, too but she did great and cried for just a little bit. McCoy went with us to the appointment and insisted that Dr. B check him out too, so in case you were wondering, his ears look great;)!
I really feel like we have all adjusted to having a baby in the house and we're loving it!! Violet is such a great baby! Our nights have gotten much better in the past week. She'll go about 4 or 5 hours before she wakes up to eat and normally sleeps until about 7:00 every morning. She loves for us to talk to her and to try and talk back. She also smiles A LOT when we're talking to her! I can't get enough of her sweet smiles, so I'm glad she likes giving them:). She also really likes laying in her activity mat and looking at her light. She normally takes a good morning nap and a good afternoon nap, both in her crib. She has a little fussy period at night, around 7:00, but I feel like that is kind of stopping...knock on wood. If she is fussy, it always helps to take her outside for a little bit and she'll calm right down.
And McCoy is an amazing big brother!! He still LOVES his sister. She is the first thing he asks about when he wakes up in the morning and the last person he wants to kiss before bed at night. He loves laying under her activity mat with her and telling her what he's been doing during the day. He's very good at singing her songs, too but his favorite is Old MacDonald had a Farm. So sweet to hear him ask her to pick an animal!! He's gotten better at being gentle with his kisses but we still have some moments where he has to be reminded. I LOVE how much he loves her and my prayer is that it will never stop!!!
I am loving being a mom to these two babies! I find myself thinking at least once a day how much I love being at home with them and how much happiness they bring me. I know I say this a lot but I just feel so blessed!!!
Here are some random pictures from July of the two sweeties:)...
