American Idols Live

This past weekend, Leanne and I headed to Tulsa for the American Idol concert!!! We drove up Saturday to hang out with Lauren and do a little shopping. Before we left for the concert we got some pics of my two prego best friends!

Don't they look amazing??

Close-up of Jackson (due in Jan.) and Holden (due in Dec.)

Back to the concert-I know...we're complete nerds and we were surrounded by teeny boppers, but we had a blast! The top 10 idols were there and they all sang 3 songs and did one all together. David Archuleta got 4 songs and David Cook got 5. We definitely decided that they all sound even better in person!
They started at the 10th person (Chikezie) and worked their way up to David Cook, my favorite!
I didn't get any pics of Chikezie but he did a great job and seemed like such a nice guy! I always loved him on the show and I hope he gets a record deal or something.
Next up was Ramiele. She wasn't one of my favorites on the show, but she sounded a little bit better live...

After Ramiele, came Michael Johns. He did a great job, of course!! But I was completely disgusted by this new moustache (sp?) he has. I think he was doing it as a joke or at least I hope so. Anyways, I picked a picture so you can see what it looked like...

Not so cute...

After him was Kristy Lee Cook and she did good, too. She sang God Bless America. No pics of her either...

Then was Carly Smithson who was absolutely amazing!! She sang an Evanescence song and she looks great! Her outfit was so cute!!

Next up was Brooke White!!! Love, love, love her! She played the piano and guitar.

After the first 6 sang, they all came back out and did a song together. Here's a pic of the 4 girls...

Then it was time for the top 4!!!

Jason Castro sang Somewhere Over the Rainbow. He was great!!! He was still really goofy when he tried to talk in between songs so it was pretty funny! I always loved him on the show!!

Syesha is a natural performer! She looked amazing and did a great job! She sang an Alicia Keys song. Leanne and I were very jealous of her calves!

When David Archuleta came on, teenage girls and women were bawling, screaming, and hugging each other!! It was the most amazing thing I have ever seen!!! A woman behind us who was probably in her early to mid-5o's, almost passed out and was wiping tears from her eyes!! And we overheard a girl sitting a few seats down tell her friend that she was going to marry him! I have a feeling he'll have no problem selling records!! He did do a great job and still is completely shocked that people want to cheer for him. He sang Angels and Apologize.

Then it was time for David Cook!! He has his hair cut quite a bit shorter than it was and it looks much better. He sang Time of My Life (of course), Billie Jean, and Don't Want to Miss a Thing. He was also a great performer! He came out in the audience and I thought people were going to tackle him!! Also, someone threw their panties on the stage!!

After the concert, Leanne and I headed for the car. We knew that we were parked in a parking garage, so we came out the door of the BOK Center and immediately headed to the first parking garage that we saw. Also, we were in the middle of a storm...serious winds and lots of rain. My umbrella was pointless because it just kept blowing up , so we decided to go without and just get soaked. We get to the parking garage and I keep saying I didn't think it looked right. As we're climbing the stairs in a big crowd of people (SOAKED) we look out and see another parking garage on the other side of the BOK Center that looks a little familiar.... So we turn around and head back down the stairs out into the rain to our car!!! We were completely soaked and our feet hurt by the time we found the car, but we were laughing so hard!!!

We had so much fun and I'm now really looking forward to the next season of AI!! I don't know how it will be able to top this year's!

How fun! We also got caught in the downpour this weekend...not fun. Thanks for the inside info on where to locate that adorable shirt McCoy was wearing. I headed out the second you told me where it came from and bought one!

It was such a good concert! I have to agree though, the rain was no fun! We were soaked by the time we got there and even more by the time we got back to the car!!
