Tulsa Zoo-Round 2

Earlier this summer, I took McCoy to the zoo with some friends and their kids. We had lots of fun, but I have to say, it was HOT!!! Also, those of you who know Kirk know he's obsessed with animals, so he was a little jealous that he didn't get to come along.
To make up for it, we decided to take a little family trip to the zoo yesterday afternoon. The weather was perfect and McCoy had a blast! I don't know who had more fun, him or Kirk!

There were a few animals that weren't out and we were a little disappointed. We didn't get to see zebras, lions, or tigers!! But there were others for us to see and Kirk made sure to get lots of pics!
We spent a lot of time staring at the cheetahs. They are so pretty and McCoy loved staring at one that just walked around the exact same circle the whole time. I guess he was on the hunt for something...

We also loved the giraffe. I was a little sad though, because last time we were there they had two and there was only one. We read a sign that said "Georgina" had died a couple of months ago and that her and "Samburu" (the one that was still there) had been together since 1992. I felt so sorry for "Samburu"! I hope they find him another friend soon!

We watched the seals for a while and decided they have a pretty relaxing life! They just swim around and when they get sick of that, they lay in the sun. The only problem I see is how hard it is for them to walk around!

Our favorite exhibit was the chimpanzees! We could've watched them for hours! They had two babies that kept chasing each other around and wrestling. I really wanted to bring one home! The bigger chimps were just resting and cleaning each other off. McCoy loved watching them!

This time of year is definitely the perfect time to go! McCoy loved looking at the animals and I think he's going to be just as much of an animal lover as his Daddy!!
