Expanding McCoy's Culinary Horizon

Today McCoy had his 4 month check-up. Everything went great...except for those awful shots! But he seems to be feeling fine now, so that's good. McCoy is 26 1/2 inches long and he weighs 15 lbs 8 oz. This puts him in the 95th percentile for height and 75th percentile for weight. At his 2 month he was 95th in both so his weight is slowing down a little bit.
Also at this appt, the dr (who we absolutely love) told us we could start him on some rice cereal. We couldn't wait to get home and try it out! We figured McCoy would be so excited to try something else besides milk. Also, he's been obsessed with putting things in his mouth lately so we figured it was time.

So we took off his clothes, put him in a cute bib, and sat him in his bumbo...

Drooling for cereal!

I started the spoon to his mouth and he opened wide. In goes the cereal...

My toys taste way better!

Get it out, Mom!!

No more!!

Needless to say, it wasn't his favorite! However, we're going to try it again in another week or so. I'm sure he'll start liking it soon.

Luckily, he wasn't mad at us afterwards. Just in definite need of a bath!

After his bath, Kirk decided that McCoy needed a new hairdo. He's done this before but McCoy's hair has gotten a lot longer since the last time so it looks so funny!! It always stays like this until his next bath!

And this is just a random picture of him zonked out while I was trying to burp him earlier. Those shots wore him out!!!

We have some really cute video of McCoy eating his cereal that I would love to put on here but I can't figure out how to upload video from my video camera. Does anyone know what kind of cord you have to have?? Thanks!!!

For the video (if it's a video camera and not on your digital camera)you have to have an adaptor of some kind- Best Buy would know. Those pictures are so cute! Zayde did the exact smae thing. I've heard that a lot of times, they have to try new foods up to 10 times before liking it. (That was true for Zayde.) So, keep trying!!

Just wait until you can put some fruit in his cereal...He will really love it, then. I had to put cereal in Jancie's bottle when she was just a few weeks old because she was SO hungry. I thought that my MIL would stroke out, but it turns out that she really didn't know what she was talking about.
